I have a little BAHA animal feed and a couple of animals. BAHA animal feed has really increased in price lately. What is your strategy? I'm lost and of course almost broke.

You won't be making any cc's on me, I never buy my feed. I make a little at a time, enough to sustain what animals I choose to keep out. Good luck with that one Broke!!

    Feed strategy?o_O
simple - you mill feed, you buy feed, you use PF or you don't feed your animals - what other strategy is there?-.-

Keep your mill going, even during events where you need to mill event things. Even milling a few feeds between adds up over time.

I go for one animal at a time, milling a different animals feed whist they are placed, when I run out I switch animals. I also take a break sometimes and crop farm to stock up there.

Is anyone maintaining a quantity of feed for each animal? If so, which feed do you feel would be the most beneficial?

the one for the animal you want to feed normally works best xD

As you know all to well the demand for feed changes by the event(s) ahead. So yes it is wise/smart/clever to maintain a minimum quantity stocked of each feed. The most benificial are ALL feed you stocked up prior to the demand.

Poor broke, lost again!:p;)xD..... I guess that is why you have "never" made one of the top farmer positions (LOL).

I am constantly milling Panda and camel feed, but that is because put those pens and workshops out to max my EP during events... and I am definitely not trying to match your records!!!

Woody, I really am lost here. I do listen to what EVERYONE has to offer, EVERYONE! On the surface this seems so silly I know. No, this farm has never made it to any of the top farmer positions. ALL have helped this farm grow to the point where reaching a top position is no longer out of the question.

Feed can play a part. I look for patterns or inconsistencies. If not for ALL this farm would not have hundreds of millions tied up in BAHA feed. But I am trying to make more sense from the decisions I make here. I am really grasping for straws in the BAHA feed area.

You mention Panda and Camel feed and I watch them closely. Camel feed is the least I have of the older BAHA animal feeds with 21,583 . In order to make rapid progress with the farm I must not only produce the animals but there is the opportunity to play the feed itself. This is where your strategies or lack of strategy I must consider and I fault no one or find anyone's strategy wrong for them.

When I saw Anaconda feed hit 10k on this market the other day, I knew I had better try and make some sense to this BAHA feed for this farm and develop a more purposeful strategy.

(Woody, you came to mind many times over the last few months and I want you to know that I did open all of shipwreck bay in a day. See, you and the ideas of others do shape this farm. But harvesting it is a whole different issue.) But I'm preoccupied with this BAHA feed for now!

There are so many things to take into consideration. Like right now, feed for the new animals is selling well. During events it could be panda and camel feed for those farmers who keep pens out for drops or parrot feed for those trying to cash in on their poo farming. Between times it may be elephant feed for those stocking in anticipation of possible breeding. Anaconda feed is generally high because of the chicken and rabbits, some hate to make it and others run low on one or the other animals. Lastly it depends on your market.

I always both enjoy and learn from your posts broke....
Either that Anaconda bit did not hit my market or I missed it. Its now at 5K, though, so it is a profitable venture!

I am telling newbies, etc to mill feed for the new animals, whatever they can do with the statues they have open. That feed is skyrocketing, even faster than the price of the animals in my market.

For long term, I have long been in the habit of buying up whatever crops and feed are cheap. Because I concentrate on powerfeed in my mainland mill, and there are far fewer animals in Baha, I tend to use Baha mill for events when needed. I mill as much as I can between events and between event milling items (sometimes just 2-3.. I just try to keep it working as much as possible). I buy feed when cheap, on very rare occasions just to keep my pens going for EP for an event.

But... these new pens may change things. For the time being, I am growing only a few of the regular animals, so my stores of the regular animal feeds are staying high. Also, I have to constantly evaluate the cost of feed, feed ingredients and the animals.

Make your mind up - you either have a little baha feed or you have a lot
So this isn't a baha feed strategy, it's another market strategy (like the majority of you pointless posts)
Why waste time starting another pointless thread on the market in the guise of something else? - AGAIN!

    1. Make Sure your Mill is never Idle !!

    2. Recently we have been given 5 New Baha Animal Feeds to Mill. But Toucan Feed has the Quickest Milling Baha Mill Time !! Period !!

    3. Toucan is not an Rare Animal Feeding Animal will soon, or sooner or later will be Best Baha Animal Feed to Mill that works to make you lots of CC as i have been mill Toucan Feeds to Sell.

    4. If you Check your Markets you can Snap up Toucans for less CC than selling price of Toucan Feeds

Therefore Milling Toucan Feed is the way forward for me perhaps for you too !!! ;):) it only takes 16 Mins 20 Secs to Mill

I cannot agree with you more to keep the mill productive. (There was a time long ago when I would purposely not mill BAHA animal feed. This has not been true in the last two years.)

The action to take with the new BAHA animal feeds is puzzling me. Of course I have wondered what your decision was.

Although I have a little BAHA feed, very very very little of the new BAHA animal feed, I cannot remember ever selling any of it to date. I see new BAHA animal feed listings increasing and very few of the finished animals appearing although they have appeared from time to time.

The following are the lowest listings from my market at the moment:

    Anteater feed 2174.65
    Flamingo feed 4648.39
    Red Panda feed 4510.16
    Tiger feed 5102.47
    Toucan feed 8000.00

There are 60 listings of the finished Toucan beginning at 3292.73
    No other finished animal listings

I am gathering the information from all to work through this.

    Thanks.

    @woody

Any thoughts or definite approach being taking to working with the new BAHA animal feeds?

Feed milling, a right way yep there be one for everyone!
Me right now I'm working on killing the last call for animals in the farmer perm quest, I am close to filling all old quests and yes some animals will sit in the barn till I get the rest of the items up to it but the animals will be done.
Next? that is a work in the workings, so many ways to go, market play, jump on animal type, EP maxing, just mass stock up one at a time and many more.
My parrot use to be out 24-7, poor thing, since the death of my LL he or his feed making has not seen my island.
    Random thoughts run threw.......

My approach is the same as my farm-wide approach. I have 2-3 goals that I work on when I can around events. What it is has varied depending on my level. Early on, for example, I wanted the stars to open the albino bat and pheromone cloud rows. Sometimes my efforts are sort of "intense" (as much as anything in farmerama is .. this is my "time to relax game", not my "stress over details" game. ). Right now, I have nothing that will be accomplished soon or easily. I want to reach level 96 and I want to open the last new statue. In the mean time, i am working on a couple of farmer quests.

For these reasons, my Baha mill is mostly used to fill needs of the animals I am growing. I don't use it as a market selling tool.

My Baha mill goes non-stop. I always try to keep a backup of about 20 of each, but the only way to do this is to take regular breaks from having animals on Baha for me. The feed just takes so long! I also have the mill subscription which for Baha feed is a must if you can afford because it does make it easier to keep u with the feed.

On my island I keep out 1/2 of each animal and mill their feed. If I run short I buy small quantities where the price is less than half the price of the animal. Monkey/parrot/sloth feed prices usually fit this criteria, leaving the mill to work on longer feeds. At the moment panda/camel feed prices are less than half but that is rare. Have no idea why pandas/camels are well over 3,000 cc but farm detectives will suss that one out. With new animals I'm feeding them PF short term until their feed is stocked up to 20 for each. Got 3 of the new animals but I suspect a tiger ate my favorite flamingo on the way coz one never arrived ...

[IMG] Does people really buy Toucan feed on your mkt Broke at that price when the price of the animal is less than half?!! lol
If I was at your mkt I would gladly sell ALL my Toucan feed and keep the mill running with that until it decreased a whole lot.

I keep wondering about the next baha breeding animal. Will BP ever succeed in getting the Elephant in heat? :music: Or will it be another? Parrot maybe. I have no clue because of the rumors of the Elephant not coming true yet despite of being posted so long ago...maybe the Toucan will be the joker :p

I want to be prepared for every possible breeding animal including the feed, so I just keep turning the heat on the mill and mill and mill and mill. I also buy some when I find it cheap and I have not sold any for some time. I never mill Anaconda feed. I buy that when low enough because I can get more selling the chickens and rabbits at the mkt. But when and if I ever get my feed deposits high enough on the other animals I will probably start milling some cause I don't get to buy that much. I have produced a few thousands chickens so far for that purpose now but not the rabbits.
At the moment my mill is mostly running Toucan and Elephant feed.

During events I often grow event crops on baha so I don't use any feed for a couple of days - usually I make animals there and rain forrest is now covered with trees to take down the pressure a little from the mill.

I think the most beneficial feed to mill at this moment is Toucan - sell it and buy the finished animal like Mooboy says and then the feed for the next breeding animal - pick and choose! :p
