Lettuce - That's good for beginners. And its broke's thread, I will leave all the dealing regarding lettuce to broke. Its a pity that its not spinach. I would have said "you got to eat your spinach baby" :p

For Bahamarama - those who have unlocked the feed requirements for the toucan. My humble suggestion is do the toucan feed selling. It brings out lots of CCs. You can mill around 90 feeds a day. That's what I am doing. But place the orders in lesser amounts of 10 or so. It will be easily sold. Toucan feed is costlier than the tiger etc and takes less time.

    *************************

    Farmer broke said :-
" Meba the Mouse and Noobbie the Nut (sounds about right)
She just married Noobie because Noobbie can do events "

    Broke,
Its not Meba the mouse. Its Meba, the Viking ![IMG]
She can throw axe with great skill. So can her bodyguard, Ingrid.
And she rears tigers and nobie or newbie rears only chickens.
    See the difference.

    Hail Queen Meba ! [IMG]

you said "Poor Meba or poor nobbie or poor broke family? "
We are not poor. We are viking - the brutal, the terror, the intimidating.... [IMG]you see.
you said poor nobbie, poor broke family. Ok that placates me.
So I will say to meba & noobie "Happy Married Life and may your farm prosper and May noobie emerge the TOP first in TOP 1000 next year."

    :p:pxDxD

@CylentLea123, -Mir85-, How did you know that I can't resist replying. Our moderators are very clever they just closed that thread. broke should have put that information in gabfest or game related chit chat.

What is wrong in the listing ? I do not understand it. Please explain more. The toucan feed takes a long time to sell. You possibly have to wait for a day. And huge numbers are not grabbed in my market.

I do not prescribe selling toucan feed for ever and ever and I did not suggest it as a means to make immediate CCs and grow rich simultaneously. Just let it be few of the market offers which sell and give you a substantial amount of CCs on day to day basis. When it tends to be unprofitable, it can be let off. Just like the rare animals. Its a seasonal sale. Every month this list changes. Sometimes every week. Swan & otter price came down drastically. But still I sell them to make CCs. Toucans may not be needed for any purpose. Yet there is a demand for it right now. I placed 10 offers several hours before and 4 of them are sold and there is only 6 left and they will soon sell out. I am sure of it. I place my listing in the first page. I sold it yesterday, day before yesterday & so on..... Will stop it when prices fall below a limit that I have set for myself.

And its not possible to keep on growing lettuce or as a matter of fact anything routinely. It will tire me out. I need the space to place my other requirements and stack up my barn too. The objective I have for this farm is different from yours. Its different from my other farms too.

In my humble opinion market strategies or any strategies have to be kept on revising and updating for it to be effective in long run.

I don't wish to burn my fingers and if I sell anything regularly, I will try to do it safely.

Whatever I have said above doesn't mean your strategies are not good. And is certainly not about lettuce marketing. I just explained my strategy to you. You are my mentor in market strategies. I have learnt to make quick CCs and become rich too from your strategies. So do not feel I am trying to downplay your strategy or criticising you. I am just explaining my self. Hope you don't mind. Keep on posting your strategies so that players like me might profit from it. I might suddenly change my strategy and pick up any your strategy.:D

    so 100x 1.12cc=112cc. Less 100cc paid and market fee of 11.2cc, leaves a 0.8cc profit! - whooppeedoo-.-

lucky it's a farming game and not a market trading game isn't it?o_O

In the time taken to buy you lettuce, list and sell them you could have grown your lettuce and turned them into 500 lettuce. Even selling them at 1cc each would return you a 400% profit

I would love to join this thread, Broke :)

onetwo Playing lettuce and such is not about growing it....Mighty Thor forbit! You don't have to grow anything.

Yes Broke, I play lettuce and carrots and wheat and I play a lot of items LIKE lettuce. I don't really know what to add here because you have already said so much. But I will try and provide a bit of what I have learned.

Playing lettuce will not make you rich. So why bother with it? Because what you learn by playing lettuce and if using it on other items can make you rich. And learning how to play lettuce will not make you broke like if you did it with Fire Hydrants because when you loose playing lettuce, you only loose a little ccs.

Lettuce (and wheat and carrots) are very tight markets - prices are very close to each other and there are many listings. That is the very reason that learning has to take place here. No other mkt is that tight and that cheap.

If you list wrong you will not sell and therefore loose the mkt fee. Listing wrong can be about quantity and/or price.
If you list too low you will not really loose but you could have made more profit, so what you kind of loose is the profit you could have made. And you can bet that guys like Broke will take that profit and so will I. Look at Brokes colors of green, yellow and red.

So playing Lettuce is really about learning the mkt and use that knowledge on other items. But what you make there also adds up even though it is only a little.

Clear the cheap cheap listings - remember the crops are newbie crops - there is most likely some cheap listings. Broke has already told you how to make sure you make -0- ccs. When you relist take a look at the other listings. What are the quantities? What are the prices? Look at the quantities in comparison with the prices. Do you want to list the same quantities as the other listings? No! Get in between with another quantity and another price. Who are you selling to? A little farm? A big farm? Now make a decision and list. Do that for 3 weeks and learn from your mistakes!

Edit: Oh Broke you just posted while I wrote saying some of the same things :)

    @Jools
This example is a demonstration on how to compute something to determine whether you make profit or not profit - as little as it may be, but profit! Broke is not saying anywhere that he will actually sell at that price! What he is saying is that he will go for that price because of the profit instead of making nothing! A demonstration between nothing and a profit! It makes no sense to take a single line out of it's full!
It is being explained to you in post 8. Seems to me that you misunderstand on purpose and even in a slanderous way -.- A big no go!!!

WOW>>>>I think I will need to print this thread to understand it...I have never been good at playing the markets and finding the deals...this may help.

Can we use a real life example...just bought 100 seeds of the lettuce. It is selling in my market for 6.80, then 7.50 and gradually up...so please show me what u mean with how much to sell, do I wait...thanks for patience...math/economy are my weak points....

I would take the first listing and relist with the other you bought.

    I would list like this: 2 @ 122,222.22

    Oh you poor thing!
I gotta tell you this Broke and I laugh while I do it hahahaha slowly is not always a good thing! xDxDxD

I am sure you have some in your barn you can sell if you like but maybe you only want to play? :music: List the one you bought or bring another with it from your barn. I would still list like mentioned before.

On my mkt breeding animals often go high just before the event and during the first hours and then drop and drop and drop. I am not sure what will happen with the level 3 breeding animal though - they are not really high here yet and there are listings.

Edit: I want to play too, so I just bought 3 Baldy. 2 of them at 111k and the next at 124k. The next offer is 140k
I have listed 1 lot of 3 baldy @ 138383.38. I will let you know if it sell.

Haha of course it is okay.

    My lot sold.

    I bought 2 Baldys @ 111,111.11 and 1 at 124k. That is 346,222.22 ccs
I sold the one lot of 3 baldys @ 138383.38. That makes 415,150.14 and taking out the mkt fee of 10% (41,515.01) I am down at 373,635.13. Now taking the price I paid for them I am left with 373,635.13 - 346,222.22 = 27,412.91

So for doing 3 clicks and one listing I made a nice profit of 27,412.91 ccs

I didn't mill any feed, I didn't produce any animals, I didn't use any pf. I just did 3 clicks and listed again!
Oh I just love lettuce xDxDxD

Hi Farmer_Brooke....ok...yes I always buy the 100 seeds everyday...

SO...correct me if I am wrong...bought 100 lettuce...6.50 is the low. someone selling 5000...interestingly I would buy that if I needed lettuce...
BUT I can sell my lettuce at 6.00 and still I am making a profit...correct???

The reason the 3rd breed animals dont sell well is because of the skip effect...u are hoping for a skip...so I want Einstein the Mouse...I am not going to want the one before him...I am gonna want the one before the lab mouse bc I am hoping for a skip...so that is why that one sells for higher....

How am I doing Farmer_Brooke??? Am I getting it...again...I barely passed statistics in college...that is true...not sure why a psychologist needs it bc statistics is a manipulative # to begin with...I digress...am i getting it???

Farmer_Brooke thanks for your patience in all this...even the stock market leaves be befuddled

So the lettuce in my market is 5.95 next bit 5.85/ So I sold the 100 lettuce for 6.00 cc's bc at the time the higher price was next. So I would say I made a profit????

I agree with something u said before....i never got up to 650 milllion CC's but to 40 million and back down to 0cc...so unless u have been to both end of the spectrum's its hard to get why its important...

So in trying to build my CC's back up, so that I can purchase something I need, I have been selling chickens...didnt even realize that they sold well until someone mentioned it here.

I have a snuggles, snowy, rubber ducky, mini pig>>> now as a newb I would have been dying to sell those but after 5 yrs I know they dont always sell...the trick is knowing when to sell...yes that is my self-talk said out-loud...walk me thru it...later when u have some time

I believe you, broke. Whatever made you think I won't !!! I know your lettuce grew all night and you harvested them next morning.

I thought you were broke. Aren't you ? Was I mistaken ? You are not BROKE ! You are Hyde !

I bought some first 2 levels breeding animals yesterday as soon as FAQ was released, dead cheap and waiting for the right time to put them for sale. Prices have already picked up.

And about the 12 selling.....My mind is not right upto mark now. So I will give you only one answer, if selling 12, .12 etc is boring you can try 12328, my other farm is abc12328. ;)xD

Hail Queen Meba, the Dragon Viking !
You are dealing broke fine !
Hail Queen Meba, the Dragon Viking !

pssst...I think all viking have a title. So I took it from your avatar.

and now elimeno is caught (in broke's marketing). But it will give you benefits. Only thing is modify it to suit your way of farming. All said in good spirits.
yesterday, I became broke 4 or 5 times and made several millions and now once again 3/4 th way to million right now. Waiting for the right time for the market to pick up some more and go zooooooooooom.

xDxDxD onetwo you really make me laugh! And your first post in this thread was funny too - I forgot to comment. ROFL about the noobbie and the chickens part. And thanks!
I like my dragon so naming me after him is nice:)

I am glad I sold my Baldys earlier - they are now down in 115k and 45 listings. I sold Roasters earlier too at 24k and now down in 15K
Event has begun and prices are dropping!

onetwo I go broke all the time. Sometimes I even have to climb the stalk row to get ccs enough to list my carrots. Once I didn't like being broke and always kept some amount of ccs - of course it is nice to have some for a bargain - I am not aiming at being broke, but if I want to spend it all on something I just do it and list my carrots and when sold I list something else and work my way up again. In a day it can be millions and my ccs are working and I am building stock.

Hum Hum Hum .. I do appreciate the effort to inform fellow players and newbies about the way the market in this game does work, it's like a FAQ -thanks for that- . but ..

I know any item in my barn is worthless (didn't pay a single cent for it, this pixel game is playable for free, nor will I gain a single cent from it at any time). Either I use the items to advance my play or I list items on the market to gain CC -which will be used to advance my game as well-. Once used it's poof, once listed and sold, at *any* price, the CC gained is a profit of some kind. Playing the market the most profitable way is that easy. It costs nothing but a smile.

    Keep smiling!
